National Gallery of Art, Smithsonian American Art Museum, and Phillips Collection. The Lou Stovall
Workshop, began in 1968 as a small but active silkscreen workshop, evolved into an internationally-
recognized printmaking facility collaborating with Jacob Lawrence, Sam Gilliam, Elizabeth Catlett, Robert
Mangold, and others. In 1969 Stovall was invited by the Corcoran Gallery of Art’s Director to expand his
operation in a new extension of the museum at the location of the former Washington Gallery of Modern
Art in Dupont Circle, Washington, D.C. He designed the cover artwork for Roberta Flack's fifth studio
album, Feel Like Makin' Love (March 1975).
