Duplicate Prints and Photographs from Davidson College, Sold to support new acquisitions. Patrick Caulfield was a leading figure in British Pop Art, known for simplifying everyday objects and interiors to bold outlines and broad areas of color. His seemingly straightforward scenes often contain a dry, playful wit, transforming cocktails, restaurant tables, domestic objects, and suggestive details into subtly cheeky observations of modern life. Caulfield’s distinctive visual language drew on commercial graphics and sign painting, and his work is present in the collections of the Tate Modern, the British Museum, and other major international collecxtions.
Excellent condition and a beautiful impression; an overall clean, crisp sheet with few minor surface rubs only visible in raking light.
