Michael Godard is an American contemporary artist known for his Pop Surrealist paintings. Born in Southern California, he studied fine art at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Before pursuing painting full-time, Godard worked as a mechanical engineer, commercial illustrator, caricaturist, and entrepreneur. He gained widespread recognition for his humorous depictions of animated olives, martinis, and other playful subjects. His distinctive imagery developed partly during his daughter Paige's battle with cancer, inspiring a series of lighthearted paintings that became central to his artistic career. Godard's work has been exhibited and distributed internationally through galleries and major commercial exhibitions, attracting a substantial following among private collectors and celebrities. He has also appeared on numerous television programs and published the illustrated book
