Listen as our Historical & Book Cataloguer, Emily Kerrigan, discusses a rare first printing of Anne of Green Gables and how a great book at the right moment can elicit powerful feelings and a lasting connection. This is especially true of children’s books, Kerrigan shares, “When I was a young girl I read Katherine Paterson’s Bridge to Terabithia and I remember just hiccup sobbing reading the book, but also feeling how wonderful it was to be reading a book that was making me feel such intense emotions.” Listen longer as a few other Leland Little team members reflect upon a book that was significant to them at a young age.
