Sometimes, the things you want to do are the same as the things you should do. For the bourbon enthusiasts among us, that will be the case at our December 5th Fine Wine & Rare Spirits Auction, when we sell several bottles of the six millionth barrel of Buffalo Trace whiskey to benefit local non-profits.
Buffalo Trace has a tradition of donating special bottlings of their sought-after bourbon to charities, who are then able to auction them as a fundraising tool. We will be selling one of these bottles each on behalf of:

  • Animal Protection Society of Durham

  • MIRA USA, which provides guide dogs to blind children

  • The Montessori Community School in Durham

To heighten the inevitable glow brought on both by whiskey and acts of charitable giving, our Fine Wine & Whisky Director Mark Solomon is sweetening the pot for the highest bidder on the APS Six Millionth Bottle. Mark has a special fondness for the animal welfare organization, having met his wife at one of their events. In gratitude, the successful bidder of this particular O.F.C. bottle will also win the following:

Private Wine (& Whisky) Tasting for you and 3 friends (4 people total) at the Fine Wine & Whisky Director's home in downtown Hillsborough, NC. Which bottles will Mark open? Who knows. But he promises not to disappoint. Not local? Well now you have a great excuse to attend the next Leland Little wine auction in person!
