Born in Belgium, Jules Antoine Dieudonne settled in Washington, D.C. He was an accomplished and respected artist, winning a silver medal at the 1903 American Art Society in Philadelphia, and exhibiting at The Art Club of Philadelphia in 1900, and numerous other venues. A portrait of Dieudonne is housed at the Corcoran Museum in D.C. Several of his paintings are also in the collection of the Maryland Historical Society.
