Circa 1800, rectangular form with cut corners, the hinged cover featuring a translucent cobalt blue enamel over an engine turned "rising sun" decorative scene, the sides with lively cobalt enameling, all separated by borders of white enamel and engraved gold reserves, the cover and interior each with four hallmarks.

An exceedingly unusual feature of this box is a sliding cover on the base that conceals three gold & enamel counters / markers.
