New York, attributed to the Duncan Phyfe shop, circa 1820-30, mahogany, mahogany veneer, scrolled crest rail with three inset panels, over upholstered frame having a reeded front skirt rail which continues and terminates at the scrolled arm, raised on winged hairy paw feet with acanthus leaves.

Purchased from James A. Deyerle II and his wife Anne in approximately 1995. It was in the Deyerle plantation in Roanoke, Virginia and was part of the collection of James Arthur Deyerle Sr. He is a cousin of Dr. Deyerle in Harrisonburg, VA.

Break and repair to scrolled crest at joints, later upholstery.
