Key 1st issue points are present such as pp. xvii-xviii lacking page reference numbers; p.xviii with last entry reading "Thankless Devotion - A Newspaper Valedictory"; p.129 with no illustration and "9" below text; p.643 reading Chapter XLI rather than LXI.
Affixed to the frontispiece is a New York Times article by William Walsh titled "Mr. Twain's First English Critic: The Saturday Review Took 'Innocents Abroad' Seriously," published on April 24, 1910.
Some chipping to morocco; front cover with small splits on hinge; wear to marbled paper; internally very good.
