Dinckel was born in Cincinnati where he received his formal art training at the Art Academy under Frank Duveneck. He continued his studies on travels through Rome, Paris, Munich, and Berlin before finally settling in Toledo, Ohio. He exhibited frequently with the Toledo Federation of Art Societies from 1917 onwards. While living in Toledo, Dinckel made numerous sketching trips in New England before moving to Rockport, Massachusetts in 1942.

Examined out of frame and appears to be in fine estate condition.
