Mudford, William, An Historical Account of the Battle of Waterloo (London: Henry Colburn, 1817), 368pp. with hand-colored aquatint plates by James Rouse, small folio (13 x 10.75 in.), full calf with gilt title plate on spine, the plates to include "Portraits of the General Officers," a fully illustrated half title showing victorious soldiers from various branches of the service, a foldout map detailing portions of Belgium and France (no color), a foldout battle plan, a foldout panorama of the battle and (24) full page illustrations of Waterloo, its environs and the carnage that transpired. The covers carry title plates for a James Robertson and another for "Major General John Cecil Russell, Col. 12th Royal Lancers," an active officer from the Boer War until the 1930s.

Both covers disbound but present; lacking the first plate after the text; heavy offsetting from the second plate to page 368; creme age toning throughout; some edge browning to endpapers; internally clean with some light scattered stains and foxing. Worthy of restoration.
