One of America's most prominent sporting artists, Tracy was born in Ohio but received his most influential artistic training in France. While he maintained studios in Chicago, IL, St. Louis, MO and Greenwich, CT, he traveled extensively and often in the southern states completing commissions for hunt scenes and portraits of favorite dogs. One of his most ambitious southern hunt scenes, Field Trials in North Carolina, was recently added to the Johnson Collection in Spartanburg, SC.
