Lot 595
Pre-Columbian Pottery Figures and Vessel
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
The first a seated figurine likely from Central America, with some original burial accretions (7.75 in.) (head re-attached, some chipping and loss, stable crack to leg); the second a standing Veracruz figure (9.5 in.) (completely re-assembled); and third a vessel with strap handle and bird effigy, cruciform design to shoulder, red collection number to underside (6 in.) (handle broken and re-attached).

This lot is accompanied by a letter from Robert Stoetzer stating that upon his first-hand examination and review he believes both figures to be "original and authentic artifacts produced circa 500 to 900 AD". While Stoetzer did not examine the bird vessel, it is from the same collection.
