After the original painting by Sir Edwin Landseer, completed in 1831, depicting "Bob," a large black and white Newfoundland. Bob was found in a shipwreck off the coast of England. After saving a total of twenty-three people from drowning, he was made a distinguished member of the Royal Humane Society. The original painting hangs at the Tate Gallery in London.
