Octavo, bound in full calf, likely the 1599 edition published by Robert Barker, the work includes T. Grashop's signed chart instructing one on "Howe to take profite in reading of the holy Scriptures." The inside front cover carries the bookplate of Bishop Frederick Burgess, who was Bishop of Long Island 1901-1925.

A label on the storage box containing the book claims that it was "Brought to Massachusetts in 1st half of 1600's."

The front cover is nearly detached; many text pages are disbound and some, including the title page, are missing. Overall poor condition.
