A hand-written note from Mr. Meyers indicates he purchased this work from an art gallery in Winston-Salem, NC that eventually became SECCA (Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art), circa 1959.

Born in Los Angeles, Partin studied at Columbia University and Yale School of Fine Art. He taught in the Department of Art at Woman's College (now UNC-Greensboro) alongside Gregory Ivy and John Opper in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Two paintings by Partin are included in the permanent collection of the North Carolina Museum of Art.

No apparent condition concerns.
