Mr. Myers recounts the history of this maquette as follows:
This is a small model of a proposed large painted metal sculpture by a New York artist. It was to have embellished a high school designed by NYC architects Ferrenz & Taylor. The proposed sculpture was dropped when New York's financial crisis in the 1970s abolished a requirement for art in new schools.
