Circa 1800, mahogany with mahogany veneers with ebonized and satinwood inlay, divided interior with silk lining, the hinged lid and front each featuring a central conch shell surround by an arrow form inlaid design, the top and front corners with patera inlay, finished and inlaid on all sides, rope stringing inlay along each edge, with brass bail handles, with key, the locking mechanism unmarked.
