Attributed to Mecklenburg County, circa 1800, yellow pine secondary, a two part form with an applied stepped and cove molded cornice, both the upper and lower case feature hinged flush paneled doors with a scratch bead surround, each panel is decorated with a rectangular line inlay, flanked by side and canted panels featuring line inlay terminating in demilunes both top and bottom, the doors are centered with a conforming line inlaid panel. Other features include a shelved interior, molded waist, and molded base above spurred ogee feet.

This cupboard has been owned by only two families: purchased from the original owners, the Wall family of Wadesboro, NC., during the depression and to the present owner by descent from his grandmother.

Excellent craftsmanship displayed in the execution of the inlay; original ogee feet; original cornice.

Replaced hinges at top; area of surface roughness at upper left probably from hinge replacement; patch below the escutcheon where a pull once was located; some charring to upper left back; right foot with spur chip.
