The youngster seated with his rifle-musket that the ready. He wears a standard federal belt rig with US oval plate and cap box. The image is so clear that under magnification it appears that the initials "RB" are carved into the butt of the subject's weapon. Blue tinted trousers with gilt applied to the buttons, belt plate, musket hammer and hat cords.
