Nawabi received her BFA from East Carolina University and her MFA from the University of Florida. In 2011 she was chosen the winner of Bravo's "Work of Art: The Next Great Artist." Her solo exhibition, "Not For Long, My Forlorn," was shown at The Brooklyn Museum in 2014 and The Greenville Museum of Art, Greenville, NC in 2012. Her work may be found in numerous collections including the actress Claire Danes, New York, NY; a Private Collection c/o de Pury & de Pury, New York, NY; the Brooklyn Art Library, Brooklyn, NY; Barbour Strickland, Greenville, NC and Hector Puig, Gainesville, FL.
