Nawabi received her BFA from East Carolina University and her MFA from the University of Florida. In 2011 she was chosen the winner of Bravo's "Work of Art: The Next Great Artist." Her solo exhibition, "Not For Long, My Forlorn," was shown at The Brooklyn Museum in 2014 and The Greenville Museum of Art, Greenville, NC in 2012.
