Of more than thirty copies of communiques, 1942-46, plus three untitled 12 in. records and a 16 in. recording of President Truman at Olympia, Washington on June 20, 1945, the collection compiled and preserved by Lt. Colonel DeWitt Greer of the U. S. Army Signal Corps. All of the material is type-written with many of the sheets being stamped "Confidential," "Secret,"or "Restricted." One document, a "Proposed Plan for Consolidating White House Communications Agencies," by Lt. Col. Greer and dated August 11, 1945 is approved and signed by President Truman.

Successful prosecution of the war demanded efficient electronic communications between the president, cabinet members and military leaders. Lt. Colonel Greer was in charge of the effort during the war's final months and had the foresight to preserve the material herein.
