Circa 1700 or earlier, oak and walnut, rectangular case, molded lid with old snipe hinges and battens to underside, top edge of lid with checkerboard banded inlay, the checkerboard inlay repeats across to horizontal and vertical case stiles, three inset tombstone shaped panels with intricate floral inlays with relief carved surrounds, paneled sides, molded base, straight feet from the stile.

29 x 46 x 23 in.

Good estate condition considering age and rarity.

One inch replaced strip to rear of lid; top with several areas of inlay loss; six inch wood loss to left tombstone panel right edge.
