In 1777 Dr. Hugh Smith introduced a bubby pot for use in his own family. It resembled a small coffee pot with a perforated spout. Transfer ones were purchased by the affluent and creamware pots by the less affluent.

Lid with edge chip and inner rim roughness; tight base hairline.
