Estate of Elizabeth Jocelyn Jewett Tolar of Wilmington , granddaughter of Mary Wright Giles and John D. Bellamy II, and direct descendent of Judge Joshua Wright, Samuel Jocelyn, Dr. John D. Bellamy, and William Giles, and several other Wilmington’s founding families.

In Wilmington: A Pictorial History, author Anne Russell writes, "Edge Hill was built by Richard Bradley beside Bradley's Creek in 1812 near what is now known as Airlie Gardens. It was deeded to the Giles' family in 1829 and owned by them until 1939."
