Federal Tall Case Clock

Early 19th century, attributed to Wood County, Virginia, now West Virginia, cherry, metal face with stenciled design and Roman numerals, hood with broken arched pediment and full columns, hinged door to waist, base with lower panel raised on turned front feet, pendulum and two weights.

Purchased in 1972 from Crawford & Goodman Antiques, Richmond, Virginia. Said to be from Parkersburg, (West) Virginia. Early pen inscription to back of works.

Replaced finials; missing back board; pendulum and weights likely replaced; other repair and restoration; the metal face with paint loss and bending to top due to tight fitting hood (likely a marriage).
