Ca. late 18th - early 19th c., period odometer framed in walnut , 7" engraved brass dial marked "D. Adams / Charing Cross London" measuring furlongs, miles, chains, poles and yards, the device driven by an iron-rimmed wooden wheel.

Dudley Adams (1762 - 1830) belonged to family of well-known instrument makers. One of his clients was George Washington.
Repaired handle, diagonal crack to glass cover.
