Scottish Tall Case Clock, 19th Century

Mahogany veneers with banding and light wood inlays, having an arched hood over a circular metal face faintly marked "Aberdeen". The case with tombstone door flanked by inlaid quarter columns, raised on later appropriate feet. The clock is equipped with hands, two weighted pendulums, one weight, brass works, and a key. There is a second more contemporary face, works, weights and key fitted to the case.

Estate of the late Dr. Stewart Penfold Blake of Palo Alto, CA and Charlotte, NC Stewart Penfold Blake (Col. USArmy Ret.) was a proud soldier, superb story-teller, lover of music from Mozart to Benny Goodman, gracious host, wine connoisseur and knowledgeable art lover. Among his many proud accomplishments were his design of the test track for Porsche in Stuttgart, Germany and his design for carrying Venezuelan oil from the fields to the sea. His estate represents his life in appreciation of history and diverse cultures.
