Switzerland, circa 1970, of high polish and satin finished form, depicting an abstract overhead view of the Grand Canyon, fully signed with stamp and maker's mark as well as a scratched inventory number, mounted in stamped 18KT yellow gold.

Estate of the late Dr. Stewart Penfold Blake of Palo Alto, CA and Charlotte, NC Stewart Penfold Blake (Col. USArmy Ret.) was a proud soldier, superb story-teller, lover of music from Mozart to Benny Goodman, gracious host, wine connoisseur and knowledgeable art lover. Among his many proud accomplishments were his design of the test track for Porsche in Stuttgart, Germany and his design for carrying Venezuelan oil from the fields to the sea. His estate represents his life in appreciation of history and diverse cultures.

The "Grand Canyon" motif jewels produced by the famed Swiss firm Gubelin in the 1960s and 1970s remain one of the firm's most beloved and hard to find designs.

In excellent and attractive vintage condition with light wear in the form of expected scratching to gold.
