Likely Benin, early 20th century, the bell cast as a human head surmounted by a seated figure holding a snake and staff (12.5 in.) (casting flaw to the figure's right leg); the knife with a barbed foliate blade and wooden grip, the leather sheath bound in animal hide and having a wooden throat (19.5 in. overall) (age shrinkage to the sheath prevents safe and easy insertion or withdrawal of the knife).
