Late 19th century, oil on canvas, both signed "A. Balquet" lower right, the scenes depicting small clusters of French soldiers engaged in urban combat, both paintings presented in later gilt and gesso frames with paper backings, circa 1930s, having the seal of Munson Art Shop (Chicago).
