`Upper Susquehanna School, New Berlin, Pennsylvania, early 19th century, 59.5 in. LOA with 43.5 in. octagonal barrel having a .5 in. bore and signed S * B behind the rear sight, incised decoration on figured maple stock with eight half-moon silver inlays plus a larger silver inlay on the cheek. Brass furniture includes the nosecap, buttplate, phoenix-shaped patchbox, trigger guard and sideplate. Likely imported English hammer and lockplate with a possible locally turned trigger.
