Dr. Wallace Hyde, a well-known Raleigh businessman, and his wife, Jeanette Hyde, were influential figures in the Democratic Party. Dr. Wallace Hyde was a leading fundraiser for Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale, Al Gore, and other Democratic candidates. He made a significant impact on North Carolina politics, helping generations of Democrats win office. Under the Clinton Administration, Jeanette Hyde served as US Ambassador to Barbados, Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, and the Grenadines, and to Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Antigua and Barbuda. Over the years, the Hydes entertained many high profile politicians in their Raleigh, North Carolina home.
