Oil on canvas, signed at lower left "F. Speight," an old paper label attached to the top stretcher is inscribed "Arrival of Steamboat - 1819 / oil on canvas," inscribed "65A" on the stretcher, the proper right stretcher also bears the Philadelphia art supplier's stamp "Henry M. Taws," housed in a period appropriate carved and gilt wood frame with linen liner.
