The first titled "Front Yard," oil on paper, signed at lower right, depicting the artist's front yard in Greensboro, matted and framed under glass with linen liner (SS 11 x 14 in.; DOA 20 x 23 in.); the second is titled "Philodendron" (Plant on Table), oil on paper, dated 1977, matted and framed.

Lucy Spencer earned her BFA from the University of Georgia and her MFA from University of North Carolina - Greensboro. She has exhibited widely in North Carolina since 1975, as well as up and down the East Coast. Her work may be found in many private and corporate collections, including R. J. Reynolds, Duke University, and the Weatherspoon Art Museum. Painting in a "wet, juicy style reminiscent of Wayne Thiebaud," Spencer's still lifes remain among Joe's personal favorites in his collection.
