19th century, yellow pine with original blue painted surface, having a 3/4 hinged lid which covers a simple well, pencil inscription to underside of lid "L.D. Bennets School Desk when he taught in 1828", the mortise and tenon case supported by square tapered legs. Retains original forged lock.
