26 in. blade, 32 in. overall, one side of the ricasso is stamped "U. S. N. / DR / 1863" while the other side has traces of the Ames Mfg. Co. mark and is stamped "NJ." Leather-wrapped wooden grip, sheet brass guard stamped with ship's rack numbers, includes original leather scabbard and hanger.

Scarce with scabbard included.

All original in fresh "attic" condition; deteriorated grip leather; moderate rusting to the blade; untouched patinated brass; leather somewhat stiff, the scabbard lacking its tip.
