The first a quadruple case for ninth plate photographs, the images all of children and consisting of (3) ambrotypes and a tintype. The case depicts a mother, child and pets on the lid and cavorting children on the back; the second case is made to house photographs on both sides, however holds a single sixth plate portrait of a middle class lady. The front and back of the case depict a mother, child and family dog; the third case contains a ninth plate ruby ambrotype of a young man and is molded with a classical profile on both sides.

Tiny edge chips as expected; the ninth place case cracked along the top of the back with a small area of loss along the lid's top edge.
