Slant top form, the lift-lid with double applied star shapes, the sides with applied diamonds with molded edges, the ground in blue paint and the applied elements have red fields and white surrounds, interior till. Included with the box are the following contents: remnants from an 1800 broadside, " Address of the late General George Washington, to the citizens of the United States, on declining a re-election to the Office of President;" Hartford: Hudson and Goodwin, [1800].; THE TIME PIECE, No. 9, New York, [October 4, 1797]; a cabinet card from the Virginia Photo Company depicting a young couple in a horse-drawn buggy; a cabinet card portrait of three young men by Michael Miley of Lexington, Virginia; a business card for Charles B. McFee, Jr. of the Virginia Retail Merchants Association in Richmond, Virginia; and (8) old hand-rolled cigars.
