Beaufort and Hyde Counties, NC, approximately (12) documents, 1840 - 1880, 8vo and smaller, to include (2) slave bills of sale, a business tax list itemizing "Negro Traders" and a Confederate bond receipt. Two documents have been laminated. Overall fair to good condition with splits along folds; plus a Model 1840 Musician's sword, 34 in. LOA, the ricasso marked "Emerson & Silver / Trenton / NJ" and "US / BFM / 1864," cast brass grip with faux binding. This weapon was found during the early 20th century in a field near Washington, NC. The knucklebow is missing, nicks to blade.
