Oil on canvas (lined), unsigned, depicting three figures in an upper middle class domestic interior, the seated gentleman holding a copy of "The Bredasche Courant," housed in a period frame. An article published in "De Bredasche Courant" on December 18, 1965 "justify the careful suppositions that on the picture are Petrus Rudolf Broese (1800-1853), printer and publisher of the Bredasche Courant, his wife Catherina Johanna Vierweg and his fourteen year younger brother Jacobus Gerardus Broese, who moved to Utrecht in 1843."
