19th century, oil on fabric, floral and geometric borders frame a fanciful oriental landscape in which a lady entering a pagoda casts a last glance at departing sedan drawn by oxen. A vase of flowers is painted on the back of each panel.

A horizontal crease with minor splitting runs the length of the work through all four panels; some light, mostly peripheral chipping; detached fabric strips for covering hinges; wooden frame and reverse with green paint.
