A rare find and exciting sports history novelty, this rectangular pennant celebrates the victory of the Notre Dame football team from 1929 and 1930. Composed of felt, a yellow trim is applied to the top, with the words "ND National Champions" sewn to a navy field. Two leather football shaped pieces are sewn to the top and bottom corners with "1929 Notre Dame" and "1930 National Champions" each with facsimile signatures of the entire team. The lower left corner features a gold fabric scoreboard showcasing each winning game of 1929 and 1930. The pennant is accompanied with a photo signed by Hugh John (Hughie) Devore, right end, Notre Dame, senior year. "To PHil with my sincerest regards to one of the best fellows I know Hugh Devore."

Originally owned by Philip Arnheiter, who graduated from Notre Dame in the early 1930s, and purchased the pennant while attending school.

Some fading to front of pennant. Each corner has tack holes. There are three small areas of moth damage, each less than 1/4in. Overall good condition.
