According to RŽmi Krug, just "500 or so" bottles were ever made. The precursor for the Clos du Mesnil bottling that would not appear for another thirteen years (i.e., 1979) for the first time. Has been hailed "the Cocaine of Champagne", the 1966 was made only once and never again.
