Multi-colored silk threads on coarse natural linen, with four rows of alphabet and pious verse, enclosed within strawberry border, with top row of stitched trees, bottom register with green lawn, playful dogs, and fruit baskets; below verse is stitched "Henrietta Jenkins aged 11 years / June the thirteenth 1806." Henrietta Jenkins, born 13 June 1794 in Hudson County, New York, married Henry Dakin (1790-1832) in 1811 and bore four children. She died 22 August 1819 at the very young age of 25 in Warren County, Ohio. Presented between conservation plexiglass.
