19th century, mahogany, the body carved with repeating acanthus leaves, the hinged cover with gadrooned edge and floral border surrounding a central crest with lion and Domvile / Dumville family motto on a waving banner "Qui Stat Caveat Ne Cadat" (Let him who standeth take heed lest he fall), the interior divided into two parts - the left with carved and hinged covered reservoir for tea and the right with opening for the glass mixing bowl (now missing).

Minor expected wear and some age cracks to sides and rear of box; chip to molding of interior lid.
