Oil on canvas, likely Provence School, an idyllic pastoral landscape with figures and animals under a canopy of trees, a tile roofed manor house visible in the background; verso retains several paper labels "Chenue Emballeur 5 Rue de la Terrasse" and "Hiram Hoelzer Restorer NY." (Chenue Emballeur has been in the business of packing and transporting objects d' art since it was begun by Andre Chenue in 1760).

Two large tears; relined; later 19th century stretcher; some paint peeling and lifting at the edges.
