American Classical Carved Sofa, circa 1820

Philadelphia, PA, mahogany and mahogany veneers, scrolled crest rail, extensive carved detail including acanthus leaves, various fruits and most unusually, ears of corn. The sofa is beautifully upholstered in Scalamandre silk, and is raised on carved lion paw feet.
