Southern Folk Art Chest of Drawers, 19th century
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Walnut with mixed secondary woods, the chest somewhat resembles the form favored by Shakers with its clean simple lines, flush drawers, wooden peg knobs and trunnel construction. The intricate shaping of the front apron and the unusual formation of conical feet from the stiles gives this chest a unique profile.
